Description
I chose this as a career primarily because of my passion for work in the care sector, but also the growth and employability in this sector motivated me. I like the career structure for every given year.I have worked in different types of health care settings and actively engaged with patients in the provision of holistic needs which take account of the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual and social needs of individuals and groups. I have gained different types of care skills in responding to the needs of people in an honest, non-judgemental and open manner which respects the rights of individuals and groups.
My Adult Care Level 3 and relevant training has also given me broad knowledge about caring, moving and handling, wound care, basic life support, noticing and reporting the slightest abuse on patients, understanding the fundamental importance of relationship to social and psychological wellbeing, having an awareness of the rights of patients and carers and assisting them in exercising those rights where appropriate. I have good communication skills which I have used to pass messages across accurately to service users, their relatives and fellow co-workers.
I am also an excellent listener and observer which enable me to absorb non-verbal and verbal information I need from clients/service users accurately which makes me deliver my duties as a carer effectively. I have also used my written and verbal communication skill while writing patients incident and accident forms, behaviour chart, recording of input and output chart, when having one to one interactions with service users, and discussing clients progress at multi-disciplinary meetings or at ward rounds (patient review meeting) and many more.
